Board of Review Minutes Page 2 <br />May 1, 2000 <br /> <br /> After reviewing assessed values of similar style homes in the area and reviewing <br /> sales comps, it was the consensus that the value may be too high and that the <br /> Assessor should re-evaluate the property. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE ASSESSOR TO COMPLETE AN <br />APPRAISAL OF PROPERTY OWNED BY ROLFE ANDERSON #75-535-0255 AND TO <br />REPORT BACK TO THE CITY COUNCIL WITH A RECOMMENDATION. COUNCILMEMBER <br />THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Rich Schultz - 75-516-0728 - Mr. Schultz indicated that his assessed property value <br />increased from $171,800 to $183,000. He indicated that he felt his value increased <br />too much and that his home was appraised too high. The Assessor reviewed sales <br />comps and assessed market values of homes in the area. The review of these <br />issues revealed that the value on the property was justified. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON MOVED THAT THERE BE NO CHANGE TO THE MARKET <br />VALUE OF $183,000 FOR PROPERTY ID# 75-516-0728. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Country Inn and Suites - 75-627-0105 - Country Inn and Suites submitted a letter <br />appealing the assessed market value of their property which was valued at <br />$2,854,800. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON MOVED TO DENY THE APPEAL FOR PROPERTY ID #75- <br />627-0105. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED <br />4-0. <br /> <br />5. Adiournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, Mayor Klinzing adjourned the meeting of the Elk <br />River City Council at 7:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Sandra Peine <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
