A hard copy of the plan was mailed to City <br /> Council and Commission members on May 8. <br /> The Commission has provided guidance and input on the plan's content throughout the entire master <br /> plan process. A total of nine work sessions has been devoted to the Parks and Recreation Master Plan <br /> during the past year. The last work session was held March 18, 2015. This is in addition to the work <br /> sessions held this past July and August to discuss signature park concept designs for Orono Park and <br /> Bailey Point Nature Preserve. The signature park concepts are included in the master plan document. <br /> In addition to the Parks and Recreation Commission meetings, an extensive public outreach effort <br /> engaged over 850 residents and stakeholders throughout the process. This public outreach process <br /> included: <br /> • Athletic Association focus group session held on March 27, 2014. <br /> • Community Open Houses on June 25, 2014, and August 20, 2014. <br /> • A statistically valid survey mailed in the Spring of 2014 with nearly 400 respondents. <br /> • Online survey in Summer 2014 with over 300 participants responding. <br /> • A public art visioning session held on May 5, 2014. <br /> Once City Council completes their review, formal approval will be added to a regular meeting agenda. <br /> Financial Impact <br /> Cost estimates for the major park projects referred to as vision projects are listed in the Parks and <br /> Recreation Master Plan.
