Boys Summer Basketball <br />Camp <br /> <br />The Elk River High School Boys' Varsity <br />basketball staff will be offering summer <br />basketball camps. These camps will be <br />designed to improve the fundamental skills <br />of all players who attend. The 9th grade <br />camp is intended to help prepare players for <br />the high school program. The camp fee is <br />$30 per session. Each session is limited to <br />30 players, so it is important to sign up <br />early! The league will begin <br />the week of June 19th, running 4-5 weeks, <br />and will be held Monday-Thursday between <br />the hours of 12:30-4:00 p.m. at Elk River <br />Sr. High. Entry Fee is $30.00 per player and <br />checks should be made payable to Elk River <br />Varsity Basketball. Please send registration <br />brms and checks to Dan Bursheim (Boys <br />Assistant Coach) 14828 200th Ave. NW, <br />Elk River, MN 55330. <br /> <br />Community Offerings <br /> <br />Questions 274-1840 <br /> <br />Elk River Youth Football <br /> <br />The ERAYF (Elk River Area Youth <br />Football Association) will once again <br />be sponsoring a fall league. <br /> <br /> Grade 3 <br />A third grade flag league will again be held. <br />No equipment will be required as this will <br />be a recreational non-contact league. The <br />season will begin in early September, and <br />will continue through mid-October. Jerseys <br />and flags will be provided. <br /> <br />Grades 4-6 <br />Students entering grades 4-6 may sign up <br />for a tackle league. The season will begin <br />in late August/early September, and will <br />continue through mid-October. Jerseys, <br />pants, and mouth guards will be provided <br />by the association, but participants must <br />furnish helmets and shoulder pads. <br /> <br /> Grades 7 & 8 <br />A 7th and 8th grade travel program will <br />exist for the second year. We will be <br />playing in the North Suburban League as <br />the lightweight team did last year. It is our <br />hope to have a minimum of 2 teams: one <br />being a lightweight team of players under <br />138 lbs., and another heavyweight team of <br />players over 138 lbs. There may be a need <br />for tryouts for these teams depending on the <br />number of players interested in playing. <br /> <br />Fees for all three levels have not yet been <br />determined. Please watch for registration <br />forms which will come home with students <br />at the end of this school year.
