Over <br />the last several months, staff have worked with Mn/DOT to <br />determine how best to implement the design and construction of <br />the transit facilities. Mn/DOT is willing to design and manage <br />construction of Elk River and Big Lake facilities. The Anoka <br />County Regional Railroad Authority is willing to manage the <br />design and construction of up to two multi-modal facility sites <br />including the Riverdale site in Anoka County. Mn/DOT will apply <br />to the Federal Transit Administration for the $10 million <br />appropriated by Congress for multi-modal facilities in the Northstar <br />Corridor. The facility design will be closely coordinated with the <br />station design process to avoid duplication of effort and to <br />maximize the cost-effectiveness of the facilities. <br /> <br />Actions Requested: <br /> <br />That the NCDA:. <br />1) Direct staff to develop an agreement <br /> between the NCDA, Mn/DOT and the <br /> ACRRA related to the funding, <br /> development, ownership and <br /> operation of the multi-modal facilities; <br />2) Request that the ACRRA act on <br /> behalf of the NCDA to manage the <br /> design and construction of the multi- <br /> modal facilities (up to two)located in <br /> Anoka County; and <br /> <br /> Northstar Corridor Development Authority <br />2100 3"' Avenue, Anoka, Minnesota 55303-2265 (612) 323-5700 Fax: (612) 323-5682 <br /> <br /> <br />
