Library Annual Report/Mick Stoffers <br />Page 2 <br />Mick Stoffers, Elk River Public Librarian, presented her annual report <br />to the City Council. She indicated that the major expense for 1989 was <br />the purchase of a micro film reader printer. She also indicated that <br />the Board is working on a proposal to use some of the City's reserve <br />funds to start initial stages of expansion of the Library building. <br />Councilmember Holmgren indicated that the Community Center Task Force <br />had suggested that the Community Center look at housing the Library. <br />He indicated that perhaps the Library Board put a delay on their plans <br />for expansion until a recommendation is made by the Community Center <br />Task Force. The Council thanked Mick Stoffers for the Library annual <br />report. <br />6.2. Street. Department Annual Report /Phil -Hals <br />Phil Hals, Street Superintendent, gave a slide presentation to the <br />Council as he presented his annual report. Phil Hals highlighted the <br />major accomplishments by the Street Department in 1989 and complimented <br />his staff for their enthusiasm and efficiency. <br />6.3. Administration Annual Report /Sandy Thackeray <br />• Sandy Thackeray, City Clerk, presented the Administration annual report <br />to the Council. She indicated that the secretarial services provided <br />through Administration staff were accomplished by Alice Heinecke, <br />Brenda Ebner and the City Clerk. She reviewed with the Council some of <br />the major accomplishments which took place in 1989 and also discussed <br />projects which will be considered for 1990. <br />7.1. Discussion on Decision Resources, Inc. /Survey Results and Data <br />Pat Klaers, City Administrator, informed the Council that information <br />containing results and data of the Community Survey by Decision <br />Resources, Inc. is available at City Hall. <br />COUNCIL14EMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO ACCEPT THE SURVEY RESULTS OF THE <br />COMMUNITY SURVEY PRESENTATION BY DECISION RESOURCES INCORPORATED. <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4 -0. <br />7.2. Discussion on Tax Forfeited Property <br />The City Administrator explained that the City is attempted to purchase <br />two tax forfeited properties within the next two weeks. He indicated <br />that both of these properties relate to possible development activities <br />in 1990. ' One of the properties being purchased is off of Auburn Place <br />and is one acre in size located in a congested neighborhood. He <br />indicated that the original purpose of pursuing the parcel was to <br />• provide open space and recreational opportunities in this <br />neighborhood. Mr. Klaers indicated that development is being proposed <br />for Barrington Place properties, which is adjacent to the lot the City <br />will be purchasing off of Auburn Place. Mr. Santwire is proposing a <br />possible reconfiguration of the lots once the City purchases the <br />
