Howard R, Green Qompany
QONSULTING ENGINEERS
March 23, 2000
File: 230000M-0325

Mr. Pat Klaers
City Administrator
City of Elk River
13065 Orono Parkway
P.O. Box 490
Elk River, MN 55330-0490

RE: STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS

Dear Mr. Klaers:

As requested, this letter is intended to give you a current status of projects we are working on.
They are as follows:

A. EAST ELK RIVER AREA

Since East Elk River is such a large portion of our current workload, I have decided to lump
all of the projects associated with the East Elk River improvements in one area. They are as
follows:

Elk River Sanitary Sewer Improvements

S.R. Weidema is the contractor for this project. They began working on this project in
the spring of 1999. At winter shutdown, they were approximately 80% complete with the
improvements. The remaining work involves sanitary sewer and water near the north
end in the George Deschene area and the extreme south end near the 173rd and 171st
areas. Construction began again this spring the week of March 6th, and will be
completed in early summer of 2000. The sanitary sewer and water improvements
needed to serve Elk River Crossing, Trott Brook Farms, and Vanderberg Industrial
Development are in place and ready for hook-up.

Storm Sewer Improvements

This project was recently awarded to LaTour Construction, Inc. They also started the
week of March 6th. They will start with the storm sewer on the project and then proceed
into the street work. It is anticipated that the project will be substantially complete by the
fall of 2000, but there will be miscellaneous work that will carry over until the spring of
2001.

O:\PROJ~23000OM\0325\Itr 1-31-00 klaers.doc

1326 Energy Park Drive · St. Paul, MN 55108 · 651/644-4389 fax 651/644-9446 toll free 888/368-4389
