I <br /> I INTRODUCTION <br /> • <br /> IPROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> I The Master Planning of Woodland Trails Park represents the <br /> ongoing effort of the City of Elk River to develop a working park <br /> system that responds to the needs of the citizens. The Master <br /> Planning process ensures that any development within the park is <br /> I appropriate and aligned with the overall objectives of the Master <br /> Park and Recreation Plan. <br /> 1 Site Description <br /> Woodland Trails Park is a 160 acre parcel of natural, diverse <br /> Ilandscape. The park is located three miles northwest of downtown <br /> Elk River, adjacent to and north of the Elk River Golf Course. <br /> The eastern border of the park is adjacent to the City owned <br /> I railroad trail , that will eventually serve as a primary walking <br /> and biking trail . The north and west sides of the park are <br /> adjacent to large lot residences. The park is landlocked, except <br /> I for a 66' wide road easement at the southwest corner of the site, <br /> connecting to County Road 1 near County Road 32 .
