Page 3 <br /> Recreation Board Agenda Memo <br /> July 12, 1988 <br /> • 7 .4 . - DISCUSSION/LION'S PARK <br /> Phil Hals, Street Superintendent, should be able to provide the <br /> Recreation Board with an update on the status of skating <br /> activities this upcoming winter season in Lion's Park . <br /> 7 .5 . - DISCUSSION/RECENT CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br /> The only firm recommendation from the Recreation Board that will <br /> be discussed by the City Council relates to the motion that the <br /> Recreation Board' s 6/7/88 meeting relative to softball lights. <br /> 8.1 UPDATE/EMERGENCY TELEPHONES <br /> Phil Hals has received approval to proceed with the installation <br /> of the emergency public telephone at Orono Park . Charlie <br /> Blesener should be able to provide the Recreation Board with an <br /> update of the emergency telephone status at the Salk athelic <br /> area. <br /> 8.2. - UPDATE/PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION ORDINANCE <br /> Staff is in the process of putting together a Park and Recreation <br /> Commission Ordinance that would make the Recreation Board an <br /> Advisory Recommending Agency to the City Council, much like the <br /> Planning Commission. Once this ordinance is drafted, it will be <br /> forwarded to the City Attorney for review. If such a draft <br /> ordinance is available, it will be included within this agenda <br /> packet or distributed at the 7/19/88 Recreation Board meeting. <br /> 8 .3. - UPDATE/BUDGET TIME FRAME <br /> Charlie Blesener should be able to provide the Recreation Board <br /> with an update on his time frame for submitting the 1989 <br /> Recreation Budget. The entire City General Fund budget process <br /> has begun. The budget will be pieced together in August and <br /> should be ready for City Council review in later September. The <br /> Recreation Board members will have an opportunity to look at <br /> budget figures at its September, 1988 meeting. <br /> S <br />
