Those Zone A areas adjacent to West Twin Lake above the Ordinary High Water Level <br />of 927.1 (National Geodetic Vertical Datum, 1929 Adjustment). <br /> <br />You will have noticed by now that FEMA has added what is called an approximate 100 year <br />flood delineation for West Twin Lake which is also called an unnumbered A Zone. Defining the <br />flood fringe district boundary and a regulatory flood protection elevation for West Twin Lake, as <br />I have recommended above, will obviate the need for the city to adopt lengthy and complicated <br />administrative procedures in the ordinance language to do this same thing. <br /> <br />The Department of Natural Resources would consider, adoption of the aforementioned proposed <br />ordinance amendments for the City of Elk River as compliant with "Statewide Standards and <br />Criteria for Management of Floodplain Areas of Minnesota."
