Energy House III Update <br /> Chair Zehringer stated the house would be completed by February 28th in time to be in the <br /> Parade of Homes which starts March 11,2006. There is an Open House scheduled for <br /> Saturday,April 22,2006 at 6:00 p.m. <br /> 6. Elk River Elementary School Update <br /> Commissioner Bratlie informed the ECC that the school.ts moving along and will be <br /> complete in December and qualify for LEED Certification, ld.Level. <br /> 7. Business Expo <br /> Staff informed the ECC that the Business Expo has been scheduled fa:Sunday,March 26, <br /> 2006 from 10:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m. Staff suggested having a sign up sheet at th.e next ECC <br /> meeting so each member could help with stag the booth. <br /> 8. Other <br /> Commissioner Klinzing informed.the ECC that she attended the Summit on Green <br /> Affordable Living and that she wed lake the director oft organization to speak at a <br /> future ECC meeting and potentially the energy issues conference. <br /> Staff asked for a recommendation from the <br /> EGt recommend to the City Council that the <br /> III <br /> new library be constructed as a LEED Certified Building,possibly at the Platinum level. <br /> MOVED BY`COMMISSIONER GONGOLL AND SECONDED BY <br /> COMMISSIONER STOTENBURG T`O RECOMMEND TO THE CITY <br /> COUNCIL THAT THE NEW LIBRARY BE-COSNTRUCTED AS A LEED <br /> CERTIFIED BUILDING. MOTION CARRIED 8-0. <br /> Staff indicated"that,they 1.7;761i,14-,,draft a letter to the City Council regarding this <br /> recommendation <br /> Staff idicated that thpesident of a manufacturing company currently building a new <br /> buildliIi Elk River mentioned that it would've been nice if the City would've had <br /> financing programs to help him install energy efficient technologies into his building. Staff <br /> reminded the. ommis ion that we should not lose sight of the importance of developing <br /> financing progra. to help companies install energy efficient technologies into their <br /> buildings. Commissioners Gongoll and Bratlie suggested putting case studies on the <br /> Website to at least start educating and marketing the savings of energy efficient technologies. <br /> 10. Schedule Next ECC Agenda Items and Meeting <br /> The next scheduled meeting will be held on Wednesday,March 15,2006 at 1:00pm. Items <br /> to be discussed will be website,Business Expo,Twin Lakes Elementary School update, <br /> Energy House III update,and the Energy Issues Conference. <br /> III <br />
