NCDA expects to submit a request to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) fr <br />funding of the commuter rail project in August of this year. Part of the applicatio. <br />process includes an extensive review of land use planning efforts and identification <br />of the potential positive economic impact that may accrue from the transportation <br />investment. It is vitally important for the success of the funding request, and for the <br />long term viability of the project, that these planning efforts be successfully <br />completed in a timely manner. We are therefore requesting your cooperation and <br />offering our assistance, together with the appropriate staff from MnD©T, St. Cloud <br />APO, Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities, and NCDA staff and consultants, to <br />start these very important planning efforts and bring the Northstar Corridor <br />commuter rail project one step closer to reality. <br /> <br />For your further information, the NCDA is planning to hold a series of informational <br />meetings in the coming month.
