Ms. McPherson
reviewed the preliminary concept plan for a mLxed use residential development located north
of Nordic Woods and soadx of Elk River Country Club. 3, portion of the site is adjacent to
the railroad grade. In the concept plan, ~e developer proposes approximately 7 ~A acres of
park providing a buffer along ~e ra/lroad grade, with a large nei~borhood park in the
southeast comer of the ske.

The Commission discussed the need ro maintain ~e green mrmel effect of ~e railroad grade
trail, while still providing space for a neighborhood playgound structure. The Commission
provided pretimina~ direction that a long l/near park, approximately 250 feet deep, parallel
and adjacent the railroad grade is preferable. Several members of ~e Commission
volunteered to walk the site in order to identify an appropr/ate for the neighborhood
playgound area.

Stall will prOvide the Corrm~sslon's direction to the developer for inclusion in the ne~
concept plan.
