CITY OF BIC LAKE <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 301 <br /> An Ordinance Regulating the Speed and Direc tion of Boats on <br /> Lake Mitchell and Big Lake <br /> The City Council of Big Lake does hereby ordain: <br /> Section 301 .01 : This Ordinance shall apply to the bodies of <br /> water in the City of Big Lake known as Big Lake and Lake Mitchell. <br /> Section 301 .02: All boats exceeding a slow-no wake speed <br /> shall travel in a counter-clockwise direction. <br /> Section 301 .03: Maximum speed limit of boats shall be 40 <br /> m.p.h. at all times with the exception of those areas and times listed <br /> in Section 301 .04 and 301 .05. <br /> Section 301 .04: Maximum speed limit of boats shall be 15 <br /> m.p.h. sunset to sunrise all year. <br /> Section 301 .05: A slow-no wake speed shall be maintained in <br /> the area extending 100 feet from the shore. Boats launching or <br /> landing water skiers by the most direct route to open water shall be <br /> exempt from this provision. <br /> Section 301 .06: Any boat owner or the operator thereof if <br /> • <br /> the owner not be present who violates any provision of this ordinance <br /> ( ( shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> Section 301 .07: Definition. Slow no wake means operation of <br /> a watercraft at the slowest possible speed necessary to maintain <br /> steerage and in no case greater than 5 m.p.h. <br /> Section 301 .08: Primary enforcement of this ordinance shall <br /> rest with Sherburne County Sheriff 's Office. <br /> Section 301.09: The City of Big Lake shall be responsible <br /> for marking the public accesses and lakes with signs or bouys <br /> explaining the rules and regulations of this ordinance. <br /> Adopted by the Big Lake City Council this 3rd day of January <br /> 1989. <br /> ug- a B.
