The planning of the memorial is in conjunction with the planning of a
class reunion in June. Mr. Palmer's hope is that classmates will want to
contribute time or materials to provide a lasting memory of his classmate.
On February 9, 2000, Jerry Palmer presented his ideas and concept design
for a memorial to the Park and Recreation Commission and has received
their endorsement.

Memorial Design

The proposed memorial would be situated around the existing flag pole where
the entrance path splits near the Boys and Girls Club/Lions Park parking lot.
The design integrates the Park entrance, the flag pole, and plantings.
