• 8. Discuss Pathway Lights for Orono Trail
In the Park Capital Improvements list I had suggested six pathway
lights along Orono Trail for a sum of$4,500 that might be funded with
other sources. After reviewing my proposal with a local contractor and
a lighting expert, I suggest that the proposal be modified to use lights
that have a downward light dispersal and are more compatible for
neighbors. This type of light requires twice as many fixtures and
would cost $12,000 rather than $4,500.
9. Lion's Park Improvements
As a part of the School Street/Jackson and Freeport Avenues projects,
the City may acquire as much as 25,000 cubic yards of surplus dirt. I
will have more information available by June 8 for the Park and
Recreation Commission because of an upcoming preconstruction
conference, but at this time, the Commission should consider spending
the $2,000 in the Capital Improvement list designated for dozer rental,
plus an additional $2,000 to make the best use of this fill dirt.
•
•
