Applicant must contact Darren McKernan at the Police <br />Department (763.635.1260) as soon as possible to arrange for police <br />reserves for the event. <br />3. Walkers /runners are to utilize sidewalks, trail systems, or road <br />shoulders throughout the entire route. No road closures will be <br />permitted. It is each runner's responsibility to ensure the <br />streets /intersections are safe prior to crossing. <br />4. Race may begin at the Downtown River's Edge Park with the <br />understanding the park must remain open to the public at all <br />times. <br />5. Applicant shall be responsible for garbage clean -up immediately <br />fallowing the race. <br />6. No paint allowed anywhere on trails. Chalk or cones may be used. <br />4.6 Council Chambers capital improvement purchases as outlined in the <br />staff report. <br />4.7 Hire the following on -call firefighters, effective March 19, 2015: <br />Trent Collins, Michael Kaden, Michael Kelleher, Philip Luitjens, Justin <br />Ryti, Anthony Siebert, and Kenneth Tietz. <br />4.$ Hire Amanda Othoudt as economic development director effective <br />March 23, 2015, as outlined in the staff report. <br />4.9 Resolution 15 -12 acknowledging $254.08 in contributions to the Police <br />Department from various groups and organizations. <br />Motion carried 4 -0. <br />S. Open Forum <br />No one appeared for Open Forum. <br />6.1 City of Elk River Volunteer of the Month — Mayor Dietz <br />Mayor Dietz introduced and presented a plaque to Eileen Stotnbaugh, Volunteer of <br />the Month for March. He noted the following volunteer accomplishments: <br />• Tends eight bluebird houses at Woodland Trails. Has done this for 10 years. <br />• Picks up litter on the west end of Elk River daily. Spent a considerable <br />amount of time cleaning up trash along the Great Northern Trail north of <br />2215` Avenue. <br />Called Bingo for seniors at Angels on the Lake for eight years. <br />Participated in making "Quilts for Kids" through the Sherburne County <br />History Center. <br />Member of Bailey Station Cemetery Board that cleans cemetery annually. <br />
