On May 21, 1997, Bill presented the
Park and Recreation Commission with the results of the survey as it relates
to outdoor recreation items and a community center. The survey raw data
results and my 5/22/97 memo on the survey were distributed to the City
• Council a few weeks ago. There are certain considerations that
must be dealt with in an appropriate manner in order for both issues to
ultimately be successful. Regarding the park and recreation situation, the
city needs to avoid including certain recreation activities and needs to
concentrate its proposal on the high priorities as identified in the survey and
• must keep the overall cost of the improvements at a reasonable level.
Regarding the community center, there is a big gap between what the people
13065 Orono Parkway • P.O.
