Concept A
Hillside City Park, as a bike park, utilizes the center dump site area as an
open green area with a picnic shelter and parking. An improved entrance
road is 20' wide without curb and gutter, rather than 24' in order to minimize
the need for tree removal, walls and grading. A bituminous 12' trail adjacent
the entrance drive winds in and out of the woods to the parking lot and to the
Southern power line corridor. The woods surrounding the center dump area
contain an unimproved mountain bike utilizing existing trails, ridges, and
slopes. The Southern most power line corridor is utilized as a trail connector
between County Road 13 and Kliever's Marsh.
Concept B
Hillside City Park, as the bike park, includes mountain bike trails and
provides a location for BMX biking in the City. The center dump site can be
an open green area which in the future can be transformed into the BMX site.
Provisions will need to be made now for quantity and location of the parking
for the BMX and mountain biking. The woods surrounding the central green
area will contain an unimproved mountain bike trail. Parallel to the entrance
road, a 12' bike trail connects County Road 12 to the power line corridor
south of the site.
•
•
\\elkriver\sys\shrdoc\planning\stevewen\parkmmo\hlsd2.doc
