Parks&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 2 <br /> September 10,2014 <br /> • <br /> 6.1 Park/Program Highlight <br /> Mr. Benoit presented the 2014 Night to Unite event and shared details of the <br /> upcoming 15th Annual Family Spooktaciilar to be held on Saturday, October 11, <br /> 2014. <br /> 6.2 Eagle Scout Project Presentation <br /> Dylan Earl presented his Eagle Scout project;restoring a portion of the Elk River <br /> bank in Bailey Point Nature Preserve. <br /> 7.1 Hillside City Park Trail Steward <br /> Mr.Benoit presented his staff report. <br /> Moved by Commissioner Ahlness and seconded by Commissioner Niziolek to <br /> accept staff recommendation to appoint Sue Seeger as the Hillside City Park <br /> Trail Steward. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> 8. Parks and Recreation Director Report <br /> Mr. Hecker presented his staff report along with thanking Sue See g er for taking the <br /> Hillside City Park Trail Steward position. <br /> Mr. Hecker shared that the Parks and Recreation Commission will have a special <br /> work session meeting on Tuesday,September 30 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the Park <br /> Improvement Fund priorities. <br /> 9. Division Manager's Reports <br /> Mr. Benoit presented his staff report. <br /> 10. Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update and Priorities <br /> Paul Paige,HKGi consultant presented the Parks and Recreation Master Plan <br /> slideshow update, sharing the resulting top priorities as improving trail connectivity, <br /> improving existing parks,creating signature parks,and connection to the river. <br /> Commissioner Sagan stated that the removal of buckthorn was not on the <br /> momentum projects list and should be. <br /> Mr. Paige shared that the Parks and Recreation Commission will review the Parks • <br /> and Recreation Master plan at the November commission meeting. <br /> ErriEREI <br /> NATURE <br />
