ELK RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT BY-LAWS <br /> <br />1.0 <br /> <br />Organization <br /> <br />1.1 <br /> <br />The name of the Department shall be the Elk River Fire and <br />Ambulance Service. (Hereinafter designated as Department). <br /> <br />1.2 <br /> <br />The Department is organized to afford fire protection of life and <br />property and provide rescue service for the City of Elk River and <br />surrounding contract areas, the Department shall provide <br />Ambulance service in the City of Elk River and the surrounding <br />designated primary service area. <br /> <br />1.3 <br /> <br />The Department org-ni~.ation is established by the authority of <br />Elk River City ordinance Code 206, these By-Laws, and the <br />description of the duties and details. The By-Laws describe the <br />general organization of the Department and the description of <br />duties and details set forth the responsibilities of the individual <br />members of the Department. <br /> <br />1.4 <br /> <br />The maximum membership in the Department shall be thirty- <br />five active members, including four chiefs. Membership changes <br />may be made with City Council approval. <br /> <br />1.5 <br /> <br />The Department chain of command at an emergency response <br />shall be: <br /> <br />1.5.1 Chief <br />1.5.2 Assistant Chiefs <br />1.5.3 Captains <br />1.5.4 Senior fire fighter at the scene <br /> <br />1.6 <br /> <br />1.7 <br /> <br />1.8 <br /> <br />The Department shall drill on the second Thursday of each <br />month starting at 7:00 p.m. and meet on the last Thursday of <br />each month starting at 7:30 p.m.. <br /> <br />The Chief may call special meetings or drills. <br /> <br />The Annual Meeting will be held no earher than the first <br />Saturday of March. The Chief will announce the location and <br />starting time of the meeting at the December business meeting. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
