Council to interview all applicants in attendance. <br /> 2. Council may make appointments at this meeting or wait until February 17. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> The City Council considers board and commission appointments in February for terms beginning in <br /> March.All applicants have been notified of the interviews and asked to arrive by 7:00 p.m. These <br /> positions have been advertised since December through various marketing tools. Positions not filled will <br /> continue to be advertised. <br /> Appointments to the Energy City, Heritage Preservation,Parks and Recreation,Planning, and Utilities <br /> Commission are made by the City Council. Appointments to the Library Board,EDA,and HRA are <br /> Mayoral appointments,upon approval of the Council. <br /> Residency Requirements <br /> Planning Commission, Heritage Preservation Commission, and Utilities Commission applicants must <br /> reside within Elk River. <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission and Ice Arena Commission applicants do not need to reside in Elk <br /> River; however, city code states "it is expected that preference be given to city residents, but residency by <br /> itself shall not be a disqualification." <br /> Applicants to the Library Board must reside within Sherburne County. <br /> Residency is not a requirement for the Energy City Commission. <br /> Applicants <br /> Below is a list of board/commission applicants: <br /> P a w E A E U s r <br /> Template Updated 4/14 INIM UREI <br />
