• SANCTION POLICY
The ABA sanctions more BMX tracks than all the other organizations combined. The
reason for our success is very simple; we do so much more in every area for the track
operator. There is simply no comparison to any other sanction. This service begins with
our philosophy towards our track operators which is, without the track operator, there
would be no sport of BMX.. The track operator is the most important key to the success
of the sport and, of course, the success of the ABA.
The ABA sanctions tracks throughout the United States based on the prospective
qualifying for the sanction. The criteria for qualifying is variable with the location of the
proposed sanction, among other factors, and is determined by a sanctioning board, whose
decisions are final. No sanction will be considered until all required forms and
applications are presented to the respective directors for consideration.
This should include:
• The sanction application filled out completely.
• The sanction agreement signed by the track operator or president of
association or group.
• Proposed racing days with specific times.
• A rough sketch of your proposed track.
• No sanction will be granted without a secured land site. Once an ABA sanction is
granted the track has 90 days to become operational. It is necessary to reapply after the
90 day period if the track is not operational.
The ABA is really in many ways a family or association of like organizations. The ABA
has the track program designed to insure success of the individual track operator,
however, an understanding of all tracks must be one of cooperation with other ABA
tracks in each area. Each track sanctioned agrees to promote the ABA and other ABA
tracks in his areas. He also agrees to only run ABA sanctioned races at his track and
agrees not to become involved with the operation of other BMX tracks not sanctioned by
. the ABA. In this way,ABA tracks can be united in their effort toward common goals.
•
