Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting <br />Elk River City Hall <br />January 15, 2015 <br /> <br /> <br />Council Liaison Wilson asked about working with ERMU regarding <br />fundraising and cost sharing. He encouraged the subcommittee to meet with <br />representatives from ERMU to further discuss funding possibilities. <br /> <br />6.2 Walking Tour Update <br />Chair Fox provided the update about the walking tour and noted that he has <br />meet with representatives from St. Cloud State to discuss the tour. A <br />tentative date for a tour of downtown with the students has been set for <br />October 29, 2014, at 4:30pm. <br /> <br />Mr. Carlton noted that a section could be added to the city’s website <br />outlining the historic walking tour. He stated the change can be made once <br />the brochure is finalized. <br /> <br />6.3 HPC Annual Report <br />Mr. Carlton discussed the annual report and noted that it is a requirement for <br />maintaining certified local government status with the State of Minnesota. <br /> <br />Chair Fox and Council Liaison Wilson noted that their address needed to be <br />changed. No other changes were discussed. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Mortensen and seconded by Commissioner <br />Lindberg to approve the 2014 HPC Annual Report with requested <br />address changes. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> <br />6.4 Jackson Street Water Tower Condition Assessment RFP <br />Mr. Carlton provided the staff report requesting authorization to advertise <br />for bids to seek consultant to prepare a Condition Assessment Report of the <br />Jackson Street Water Tower. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Mortensen and seconded by Commissioner <br />Lindberg to authorize staff to post an RFP requesting proposals for the <br />preparation of a Conditions Assessment of the Jackson Street Water <br />Tower. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> <br />7. Staff Updates <br /> <br />7.1 AASLH Conference Recap <br />Commissioner Mortensen provided an update about her experience at the <br />AASLH Conference. She stated that she learned a lot but was disappointed <br />with the parking and access to the conference. <br /> <br />Mr. Carlton provided an update about his experience, echoing Commissioner <br />Mortensen’s disappointment with the programing. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
