PROJECT SCHEDULE <br /> <br />In order for each project to be successful, adequate time needs to be allowed for public <br />involvement in the process. To allow sufficient time for public informational meetings <br />and individual feedback on design concerns, it is proposed that a construction project <br />be authorized every other year. A tentative schedule for a typical construction project, <br />as provided in Table 1, is based upon guidelines established in Minnesota State <br />Statues, Chapter 429, Local Improvements, Special Assessments. These dates will be <br />revised as a project develops. <br /> <br />Table 1. Proiect Schedule <br /> <br />Identify pavement rehabilitation project <br />and prepare initial feasibility study July Year 1 <br />including topographic survey <br />Hold a public information hearing with <br /> September <br />affected property owners <br />Prepare a formal feasibility study, which <br />would include public informational October <br />hearing input. <br />Hold public hearing before City Council November <br /> November thru <br />Prepare plans and specifications February <br />Coordinate walk-through of affeCted <br /> March Year 2 <br />properties with 95% comPleted plans <br />Bid project April <br />Hold assessment hearing April <br />Award Contract May <br />Begin Construction May <br />Construction substantially complete September <br />Final lift of bituminous placed and any June Year 3 <br />punch list work completed <br />Final project with Contractor July <br />Begin new Pavement Rehabilitation <br />Program improvement project August <br /> <br />It is recommended that the first project be authorized in early spring of the first year the <br />project is to proceed in. This is earlier than the typical project schedule provided in <br />Table I and would allow for adequate time for City staff and Council to become familiar <br />with the process. <br /> <br />-13- <br /> <br /> <br />
