Arena Commission Minutes Page 2 <br /> August 19,2014 <br /> Commissioner Ballenger questions the section 8 the "look up line" reference as a <br /> Youth Hockey initiative.Arena Manager Czech confirms that it should be noted as a <br /> USA hockey initiative. <br /> Moved by Vice Chair Givens and seconded by Commissioner Cunningham to <br /> approve the minutes as amended. Motion carries 6-0. <br /> 6. Open Forum <br /> None Present. <br /> 7. Financial Update <br /> Arena Manager Czech notes that the reason that the figures for the rec programs are <br /> so high is due to the fact that we haven't paid out the other arena's involved in <br /> Breakaway their registration money yet. He also points out that the reason the sign <br /> rentals show a negative is because we bill in December so that advertisers can either <br /> pay in 2014 or 2015. The $2,080 shown as a negative reflects the advertisers who <br /> have not renewed their contracts. ~` <br /> Czech also states the Capital Outlay projects have been delayed due to the possibility <br /> of a new facility. Currently the arena has a net income to date of$41,772 which is in <br /> line with what was projected for the year. <br /> 8. Meeting Dates <br /> Chair Johns Notes that'currently the ena Commission meets 4 times per year, <br /> with special meetings added as needed provided there is a 3 day notice. The past few <br /> years, some of these meetings have been cancelled due to a lack of material. <br /> },Arena Manager Czech notes,it is staff's opinion to eliminate the January and <br /> November meetings, and to move the August meeting to the 3rd Tuesday of August, <br /> so as to avoid the primary elections. <br /> Chair Johnson states that for consistency, It would be easier to have the meetings be <br /> the 3rd Tuesday of April and the 3rd Tuesday of August. <br /> Motion by Commissioner Cunningham and seconded by Commissioner <br /> Balabon to eliminate the Ice Arena Commission Meetings in January and <br /> November and to change the April and August meetings to the 3`d Tuesday of <br /> the month. Motion carries 6-0. <br /> 9. Arena Renovation <br /> Arena Manager Rich Czech states the Parks and Recreation department is putting <br /> together their master plan. A survey was mailed to random residents and 400 were <br /> p 0 W I R E 0 0 y <br /> N' AfUREJ <br />
