Two panels of city <br /> staff and representatives from the EDA and HRA interviewed five candidates for this position. The top <br /> candidate,Miles Seppelt,met again with the city administrator and the deputy community operations and <br /> development director. <br /> Mr. Seppelt spent 10 years as economic development director for the City of Hutchinson before leaving <br /> to pursue a college campus ministry position in 2013. He worked as an economic development <br /> consultant for Benton County as well during this time. Mr. Seppelt's experience also includes economic <br /> development work at the cities of Sartell and Blue Earth and consultant work for the East Side Boosters. <br /> Mr. Seppelt is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional by the National Development <br /> Council and has won multiple awards from the Economic Development Association of Minnesota. <br /> Based on his extensive experience,we are requesting that Mr. Seppelt start at step C of pay grade 12 and <br /> begin accruing vacation leave at the rate of 15 days per year. He will be provided one day of sick leave at <br /> the start of his employment. With satisfactory performance,he will be eligible for a step increase after six <br /> months of employment.
