Elk River
Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
TO: FROM:
Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission Theresa Slominski - Finance and Office Manager
John Dietz—Chair
Al Nadeau—Vice Chair
Daryl Thompson—Trustee
MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER:
November 18, 2014 2.4
SUBJECT:
Assessments 2014
BACKGROUND:
Per State Statute, delinquent services can be assessed to the property taxes for Water, Sewer,
Trash, and qualifying Electric services.
DISCUSSION:
Attached is a listing of proposed assessments for customers with outstanding balances that still
remain unpaid for the above noted services. We sent letters out giving notice that payment
would need to be made or amounts will be assessed to individual property taxes in accordance
with Minnesota Statute. The City Council would need to approve the assessments and take them
to the county for the actual assessment on the property taxes. Due to timing, the City Council
received this listing to approve at their November 17tn meeting, pending our commission's
approval.
ACTION REQUESTED:
Staff recommends approving the attached list(s)totaling $22,649.86 to take to the City Council
for assessment on property taxes.
EN
POWERED DY
Page 1 of 1 NATURE
Reliable Public
Power Provider P O W E R E D T O S E R V E
55
