positive progress. Evaluation at year-end should show us what has been accomplished and what
should be done next.
Tom also reported that he is continuing to work on the Medica/Silver Sneakers idea for but Medica
said they will need a facility in which to conduct program. Health club setting is necessary; so if
members know of anything that might work, forward information to Tom McKinney.
Site evaluation should take place soon. Tom McKinney and new boss Anita Lancello will view both
possible sites in Elk River. Ms. Lancello's perspective will be helpful as she has both current and
previous Y development responsibilities and experience.

Michele Bergh recommended adding a "parmership" goal to those already noted. NorthStar Y is
already working with City of Elk River and hopes to work with Boys & Girls Club. Promoting these
parmerships will be beneficial for both organizations and would also help to answer any possible
questions about duplication of services some community members may have. Good suggestions and
Tom will include.

Question of possible staff support, or administrative help - Tom said any hiring would have to come
through NW Y and is not likely to be approved. Administrative support can be extended, at least for
now, from NW Y. One of Tom's key people, Sabina Smida, lives in Elk River and may be able to
offer assistance. We will try this first. We do not have sufficient funds or structure to hire at this
point.

NEXT MEETING: APRIL 8, 2004, 7 AM

Meeting was adjourned at 8:30AM.

Mary Eberley
Acting Recorder
