That § 34-32, <br />Chief of Police of the City of Elk <br />River Code of Ordinances shall be <br />amended to read as follows: <br />The chief of police shall have su- <br />pervision and control of the police <br />department and its members. The <br />chief of police shall be responsible <br />for law enforcement and for prop- <br />erty of the city used by the depart- <br />ment. The chief of police shall be <br />responsible for the proper training <br />and discipline of the members of <br />the department. Further, the chief <br />of police shall be responsible for <br />the keeping of adequate records <br />and shall report on the needs of <br />the department and its work. Every <br />member of the department subor- <br />dinate to the chief of police shall <br />obey the instructions of the chief <br />of police and any superior officer <br />The designated police captain shall <br />have all the powers and duties of <br />the chief of police during his ab- <br />sence or disability. <br />SECTION 2 That this ordinance <br />shall take effect upon adoption and <br />be published as provided by law. <br />Passed and adopted by the City <br />Council of the City of Elk River this <br />6th day of October, 2014. <br />John J.
