The report is required by Minnesota statute, filed with <br /> the State Historic Preservation Office, and required for maintaining Certified Local Government status. <br /> The HPC reviewed the annual report during their October 16, 2014,meeting. <br /> During the 2014 fiscal year,the HPC worked to increase public awareness of the Jackson Street Water <br /> Tower and received a grant to prepare a Conditions Assessment Report. The report will guide restoration <br /> efforts and provide fundraising goals. The HPC continues to work with students and faculty from Saint <br /> Cloud State University on an Elk River historic walking tour. Members also attended the Annual <br /> American Association for State and Local History Conference in St. Paul,MN. <br /> For 2015,the HPC will continue to focus on the preservation and restoration of the Jackson Street Water <br /> Tower. Commissioner Mortensen will work with local residents and conduct oral histories.
