Rolfe <br /> Item Description Reviewed by <br /> Department of Public Safety Grant Agreement for Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> CRASH Program Reviewed by <br /> Action Requested <br /> Adopt, by resolution,the execution of the attached agreement authorizing the Elk River Police <br /> Department to enter into a grant agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, for traffic <br /> safety enforcement projects during the period of October 1,2014, through September 30, 2017. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> The Elk River Police Department has been a long-time participant and lead administrative and fiscal <br /> agency in grant-funded joint law enforcement traffic safety initiatives in Sherburne County. Other <br /> participating agencies include the Sherburne County Sheriffs Office and Big Lake and Becker police <br /> departments. <br /> The Sherburne County Collision Reduction and Safer Highways program (C.R.A.S.H.) has been awarded <br /> a $124,000 grant through the Office of Traffic Safety to fund continuing traffic safety efforts in <br /> Sherburne County for the period from October 1,2014,through September 30, 2017. The attached <br /> resolution authorizes the Elk River Police Department to serve as the administrative and fiscal agent for <br /> this period. <br /> Financial Impact <br /> The Police Department will be eligible to receive between 33-40 percent of the $124,000 grant award to <br /> reimburse officer overtime and some equipment expenses related to this program. <br /> Attachments <br /> ■ Resolution Authorizing Execution of Agreement <br /> P O w E 8 E U A Y <br /> Template Updated 4/14 INAWR <br />
