MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> SHERBURNE SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br /> AND <br /> THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> FOR <br /> ORONO LAKE SUBWATERSHED ASSESSMENT <br /> TOTAL PROJECT COST $13,700 <br /> SWCD GRANT $11,000 <br /> CITY MATCH $2,700 (cash or in-kind) <br /> A. PURPOSE <br /> The purpose of this project is to identify and rank projects that will improve water quality in the urban <br /> service area of the Lake Orono watershed. These projects may include retrofitting existing practices, <br /> treating street runoff via the use of infiltration practices or other innovative practices as identified. <br /> Potential projects will be ranked by the amount of pollutants kept out of the lake per dollar spent, <br /> thereby prioritizing the use of limited financial resources. After completion of this study the Soil and <br /> Water Conservation District and The City of Elk River will pursue installation of the most favored <br /> projects. The study will provide information needed to write competitive grant applications for this <br /> purpose. <br /> B. COST <br /> In full consideration for services under this Agreement, the City shall provide the required 25% match <br /> not to exceed $2,700. City staff time for assistance with tasks listed and agreed to in Exhibit A and/or <br /> payment to the District from the City, for its services to complete the study. <br /> C.
