The business will be for scheduled students and not for open <br />dancing to the public. <br /> <br />The establishment will have an area for purchasing supplies (ie. dance shoes, clothing such as <br />street wear to customs) for dancers, skaters, gynmasts, schools, church groups and more. <br /> <br />Access to the site will be from Freeport Avenue at the location of the Dolphin Car Wash <br />entrance or at the entrance near the Bank of Elk River. There is also another entrance <br />roughly equal distance between those two locations. <br /> <br />There is ample parking for the establishments in the larger parking lot directly in front of the <br />business. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Actions <br /> <br />The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the Conditional Use <br />Permit. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff and the Planning Commission recommend the City Council approve the Conditional <br />Use Permit to operate a Dance Studio with a retail area for dance equipment with the <br />following condition: <br /> <br />IF THE BUSINESS IS TO EXPAND BEYOND 5,091 SQUARE FEET, <br />THE APPLICANT SHALL APPLY FORAN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT. <br /> <br />S:\PLANNING\Case Files\2004\CU 04-02 Dancin on Broadway\CU 04-02_CC.DOC <br /> <br /> <br />
