For other expenses, they are under the prior year by 5%: <br /> • Maintenance Expense is increased over 100% due to some pole testing, increased <br /> meter maintenance, and repairing five trucks that were broken into in the plant <br /> yard. Also, last year Maintenance Expense was reduced for some inventory and <br /> work order adjustments that are non-recurring this year so the comparison is <br /> skewed. <br /> • Depreciation Expense is reduced as actual monthly expense is calculated in NISC <br /> versus an annual estimate being distributed. <br /> • Other Operating Expense is reduced due to amortization of debt discount not <br /> present in 2013. <br /> For July, the Electric Department has a Net Profit of$88,554 compared to the prior year <br /> loss of($135,190). Year to date we are at a net income of$661,243, which is ahead of <br /> budgeted$490,532. <br /> Water P&L <br /> Water Operating Revenues for July are down compared with last year, decreased 6%, <br /> however year-to-date are slightly ahead .2%and better than budget by 5%. <br /> Usage in July is down 2%overall: <br /> • Residential down 15% <br /> • Commercial use down 1% <br /> Other Revenues of$34,043 are down 1% from the prior year: <br /> • July 2014 Investment income of$2,057 versus July 2013 $3,012 <br /> • Decreased Connection Fees of$18,077 versus July 2013 $20,482 <br /> Total Revenues for July of$223,412 are behind the prior year by 6%, however increased <br /> over the year to date budget by 18%. <br /> Expenses are over the prior year by 2%, however decreased from ytd budget 1% <br /> • Pumping Expense is higher due to a bulk order of sodium permanganate <br /> • Distribution Expense is lower due to the watermain break in 2013 <br /> For July, the Water Department has a net profit of$30,848, which is behind last year's <br /> profit of$47,932. Year-to-date,however, the Water Department has a net loss of <br /> ($308,053) which is ahead of the prior year-to-date of($334,233), and$194,258 ahead of <br /> year-to-date budget. <br /> 2 <br />
