Mroz, and any commission members will plan to present the 2024 Action Plan to the <br /> EDA and the City Council for approval on July 21,2014. <br /> Moved by Tanaka and seconded by Chuba to approve the 2024 Energy City <br /> Action Plan. Motion carried 8-0 <br /> 5.2 Participation in Regional Indicators Initiative <br /> The initiative measures a City's annual performance metrics for energy,water,waste, <br /> and transportation. Results highlight opportunities for new efficient and sustainable <br /> projects. The projects can then be implemented into the 2024 Action Plan.The data <br /> is also used as a baseline in order to monitor our performance in the future. <br /> A scholarship is currently available for City's interested in participating. The overall <br /> cost of the Initiative is $3,000,with a$2,000 scholarship available. Discussion <br /> pertaining to the overall necessity of involvement was held,with the final decision to <br /> apply for the scholarship, at which time we can decline the funds if necessary. If the <br /> scholarship is not received,the commission will undergo an evaluation of the project <br /> in order to decide if$3000 should be spent for involvement. <br /> Tanaka will investigate more about the Initiative. <br /> Moved by Westgaard and seconded by Chuba to apply for the Regional <br /> Indicators Initiative grant and pay the $1000 if received. <br /> 5.3 CERTs Guaranteed Energy Savings Program <br /> Discussion involving the effectiveness of the Guaranteed Energy Savings Program <br /> (GESP) was held. GESP has been discussed in the Commission in the past,with no <br /> outcome. Commissioner Tanaka had reservations on the timeline of the project and <br /> agreed to find more information regarding the program. No decision was made on <br /> future participation in the program. <br /> 5.4 2015 Budget <br /> The 2015 Budget has been submitted. Staff Barnhart gave a brief review of the <br /> budget process. <br /> 6. Next Meeting Agenda Items (July 16, 2014) <br /> Mroz suggested that the July Commission meeting be considered a special meeting <br /> so that interested commissioners may participate in an Energy City Demonstration <br /> Tour. Mroz gave a brief overview of possible destinations. Commissioners decided <br /> to tour the Haubenschild Farms as well as the Environmental Learning Center. Mroz <br />
