BMX Track Construction Cost <br /> Our organization has already received donations of in-kind work <br /> and materials to help with the construction of the track. The <br /> following information are cost estimates should we need to <br /> purchase items. <br /> Dirt: 1500 to 2000 yards. Ideally the track should be built <br /> above ground level. The dirt must have a clay content. It <br /> should pack into a ball in your fist, but it should be fine <br /> enough to be raked with a hand rake. $5,000 <br /> Equipment: 2 1/2 yard wheel loader, bobcat with a landscaping <br /> box, 2 - 5 ton roller. $ donated <br /> Lumber: For a two story scoring platform (10' 10'), registration <br /> building/snack bar building (not mandatory) $6,000 <br /> Electricity: Need a 200 amp power pole ($300 - $500 for <br /> pole and amp box only) $ 400 • <br /> Water: Water brought in from nearest access $ 500 <br /> Starting Gate: 6' x 28' steel mesh gate. $1,000 <br /> Gate Lights & Release mechanism: Fully computerized and <br /> voice recorded. Includes starting lights and magnet $1,000 <br /> P.A. System: For announcing the races. 20 amp with microphone <br /> and at least 4 speakers. $ 200 <br /> Fencing: A spectator fence between the track and the spectators. <br /> 4" chain link, could be"used" fencing. 6' chain link fence to cover <br /> the track and spectators (est. 300' x 500') $4,000 <br /> Track Lighting: Some type of night security light, mounted on <br /> either a building or a pole. Track lighting for night racing would <br /> be a nice to have, but not essential at this time. $5,000 <br /> • <br />
