These other funding sources may include ENRTF, Clean Water or Parks <br /> /Trails funds. <br /> Reladonsiiip to Cui-rent 01'gafflzatioiial Budget <br /> The OHF grant funds will be used exclusively to complete the proposed project activities,thereby <br /> accelerating the protection, restoration and enhancement of high priority habitat in the Twin Cities <br /> Metropolitan Area. The grant funds are in addition to the organizational operating budget of each <br /> partner and other funds secured for habitat work. These grant funds will not substitute for or supplant <br /> other funding sources. <br /> 5ustainability and Maintei,;wice <br /> Metro Big Rivers Habitat partners will.work with experienced local, state and federal land programs and <br /> private landowners to maintain the acquired and restored lands. With a strong record of leveraging <br /> funds to protect, restore and enhance wildlife habitat in the metro area,the partners are committed to <br /> working with the land stewards to secure resources to maintain these lands. <br /> The specific long-term land stewards for each project are listed here: <br /> Friends of Mississippi River—By the end of the project period, FMR expects the bulk of needed <br /> restoration and enhancement activities will be accomplished and the project will move into a lower cost <br /> maintenance phase. There will be continued costs associated with controlling exotic brush,for example. <br /> FMR has a long history of staying involved at each project site, and seeking additional maintenance <br /> funds as the need arises. The exact sources of funding are not known at this time, but would likely <br /> include a combination of state, local, and private funds. <br /> Great River Greening The cost of ongoing management is relatively low and will be accommodated in <br /> the existing program funds of the City of Saint Paul. <br /> Minnesota Land Trust—The land protected through conservation easements will be sustained through <br /> the best standards and practices for conservation easement stewardship. Funding for easement <br /> stewardshipforthe Minnesota Land Trust is included in the-budget outlined above.. The Minnesota <br /> Land Trust has a comprehensive stewardship program that includes annual property monitoring, <br /> effective records management, addressing inquiries and interpretations,tracking changes in ownership, <br /> investigating potential violations and defending the easement in case of a true violation. <br /> Minnesota Valley Trust.-After acquisition,the habitat will be restored and/or enhanced, as needed, by <br /> the MN Valley Trust and USFWS. The lands will then be donated to the USFWS for perpetual <br /> management by USFWS as part of the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge. <br />
