STRUCTURAL -MECHANICAL-ELECTRICAL <br /> • <br /> Structural <br /> Foundation- Spread footing with concrete slabs on grade in all of the building. Existing soils were <br /> removed from all footings and structural fill material was used to minimize movement from <br /> expansive soils. <br /> Walls- Reinforced masonry block walls with brick veneer on exterior. All walls accessible to the <br /> public are painted concrete block or burnished block to reduce maintenance and inhibit vandalism. <br /> The exterior wall are well insulated reducing heating and cooling costs. <br /> Roof- Prestressed concrete except for the gymnasium which is steel trussed. <br /> Mechanical <br /> Heating-Natural gas fired rooftop units. <br /> The mechanical systems are computer controlled to maximize efficiently. The computer can also <br /> check the systems to ensure proper operation and control. <br /> Cooling-Rooftop air condition units. <br /> Fire Protection-The building is fully sprinklered and has exterior and interior audible alarms. <br /> Electrical <br /> Lighting- A mixture of fluorescent and incandescent fixtures are used in the building. Natural <br /> lighting through windows and sky lights help to lower energy costs. <br />
