Memo to Park and Recreation Commission/P 01-13
August 8,2001
Page 2
• The actual area of the parcel is 79.1 acres, which would allow a dedication of up to 7.9 acres
of land. As proposed, the total parkland area that would receive credit(dry land)would be
4.4 acres. The remainder would be given in cash.
The area of land proposed to be park is heavily wooded and steep. It is unlikely that active
recreation would occur here, but walking trails,a canoe launch, and scenic overlooks could
be constructed. This would provide an alternative recreation experience to the one provided
in Kliever Lake Fields.
Recommendation
Staff requests that the Commission provide further direction regarding park dedication for
the preliminary plat of Park Pointe.
•
