We have surpassed our <br /> grand total from Summer 2000 of 1,999. We currently have a total of 2,030 registrations. <br /> The Pee Wee Golf program, which was a new one this year, has been going very well. The equipment <br /> used for this program is so fun and the children are really enjoying it. The cooperative program we are <br /> doing with the Boys and Girls Club is going very well also. This is a shared position that runs from 10 <br /> a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday at Lions Park. This position has kept all of the children in the <br /> park busy this summer, rather than having them just hanging out in the park. The staff members play <br /> games, do crafts, and just visit with them. They also keep their eyes open for children who may be <br /> engaged in destructive behavior and try to redirect them. I have been very happy with the position and <br /> the arrangement with the Boys and Girls Club. I feel like we really made a difference there with many <br /> children, both from the Boys and Girls Club and the neighboring homes and apartments. It has also <br /> helped with the other programs we have going on at the park to ensure fewer disruptions from non- <br /> participants. <br /> Fall Programming <br /> The fall brochure will be delivered at the end of August. I am hoping to be able to start a couple alley <br /> ro rams this year. We are looking to add some classes during the day for children that will be geared <br /> towards t e stay-at-home parent, those parents who worl�.non- i ' shifts and } . ..daycares. <br /> • Office Changes <br /> We are working hard to prepare for our upcoming mo_ ve to Lions Park and hope to be in around the end <br /> of the year. We are very excited about our new office space aiid reTooking forward to having some <br /> room for growth and a nice facility to program out of. We are also working on updating our computers <br /> to stay current with technology. <br /> • <br />
