They reported that the School Board is no longer the fiscal agent and that we
no longer house the offices for the program. Mr. Blesener stated that he is concerned
about the perception of not being part of the agreement, but that this change would not
affect services. Director Swanson asked for a response from the Community Recreation
Board and raised concern about the fairness and equity of the rent-free agreement. Chair
Strater asked that the Board receive a copy of the new proposed agreement. This issue
will be brought back for discussion at the March 22 meeting. It was suggested that it also
be discussed at the Joint Meeting of the School Board and the City of Elk River.
• • The 2001/2002 Proposed Calendar
Chris Sandusky from the Meet and Confer Committee presented a draft calendar for the
2001/02 school year. A recent Minnesota law
change increased the amount for bids to $50,000 or more. These recommendations for
change will go to the Board's Human Resource/Finance Committee for their
recommendation.
• Legislative Bill
00-266 Scharber moved and VanBlarcom seconded the motion to endorse the bill
being proposed by Representative Kathy Tingelstad relating to high
performance school facilities.
