r ti\ <br /> IDItem #7. <br /> City of <br /> Elk River MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: Park & Recreation Commi sion <br /> FROM: Michele McPherso , irector of Planning <br /> DATE: January 6, 2001 <br /> SUBJECT: Planning Retreat— Discuss Park User Survey Request <br /> The Commission is asked to consider the attached park user survey and the <br /> proposed work plan for implementing the surveys. <br /> Attachment <br /> • Draft Park User Survey <br /> • Calendar of Survey Dates <br /> • Proposed Work Plan <br /> As the park system in Elk River continues to develop, staff feels it is appropriate to <br /> survey the various park users as to the level of satisfaction with the current facilities <br /> and to identify future needs and desires. Staff proposes the following tasks to <br /> implement the proposed park user survey: <br /> 1. Facilities to be surveyed include: Woodland Trails Park, Youth Athletic <br /> Complex, Lions, and Orono Park. <br /> 2. Park rangers will be utilized to survey park users. Staff proposes that users <br /> will be surveyed over six weekends, beginning in June and extending <br /> throughout the summer. Depending on the number of park rangers we have <br /> available to us, we will attempt to survey approximately 500 park users over <br /> the six weekends proposed.
