Rudy Thibodeau from Majestic Custom Electric, Inc. gave a short presentation to <br /> "Encourage the Promotion of Environmentally Friendly and Energy Efficient <br /> Lighting"in which he commented on the energy and cost savings of LED (light <br /> emitting diodes) lighting. <br /> Rudy recommended the Commission set a goal for the City of Elk River to "remove <br /> 10,000,000 pounds of CO2 through the use of energy efficient lighting in the next 10 <br /> months" by providing incentives for LED lighting and community education. <br /> Rudy also requested to set up a lighting fair and demonstration in the future. <br /> 5.3 Subcommittee Description and Meeting Times <br /> The Commission reviewed each subcommittee's purpose and meeting times set in <br /> 2012. <br /> Commissioner Westgaard suggested the use of Dropbox for subcommittee use. <br /> Commissioners Westgaard and Tanaka suggested moving subcommittee meeting <br /> times to either directly before or directly after the current Energy City Commission <br /> Meeting time, to reduce the amount of time away from work commissioners must <br /> devote. <br /> Commissioner Hagen commented that the purpose outlined for the Demonstration <br /> Criteria Subcommittee was different from their original discussion in that the <br /> subcommittee should document sites and evaluate each of their efficiencies and was <br /> not set out to specifically find new demonstration sites. <br /> Each subcommittee will review their purposes and report back at the May 21,2014 <br /> Energy City Commission meeting. <br /> Staff Mroz will work on a new schedule for the subcommittees to meet. <br /> 6. Announcements <br /> Chair Sagstetter announced that the Honorary Energy City High Five Award was <br /> presented to Rebecca Haug at a lunch on April 14,2014.
