The Conditional Use Permit is not a building permit and the applicant must apply for and receive <br /> approval of all required permits before construction may begin. <br /> 2. The applicant must apply for and receive approval of all required sign permits before signage may <br /> be installed. <br /> 3. No more than 16 rental vehicles and trailers shall be on site at any given time. (Exhibit B) <br /> 4. No equipment other than trucks and trailers may be displayed. <br /> 5. Rental vehicles and trailers shall not exceed 26 feet in length. <br /> 6. No drive area may be obstructed. <br /> 7. Five (5) additional trees shall be installed by October 1, 2014. <br /> Staff recommends only 10 rental vehicles be allowed (Exhibit A) <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> Case No. CU 14-13 <br /> The Planning Commission reviewed this application at their May 27, 2014, regular meeting. The <br /> commission had no concerns with the proposal. <br /> Staff recommended to the commission that only 10 rental vehicles be allowed to minimize the visual <br /> impacts,in accordance with the city's beautification program. The applicant indicated he has had up to 8 <br /> trucks (vans) and 6 trailers (14 vehicles), but he would like to be allowed a maximum of 16 vehicles <br /> during peak times. A commissioner stated they would rather not limit a stable business to a number less <br /> than what they currently have been operating with,and would rather see more screening added. <br /> The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the request with 16 rental vehicles <br /> allowed on site. (Exhibit B) Staff recommends only 10 rental vehicles be allowed as the rentals are an <br /> accessory use, and to prevent the rental area taking over the site.
