Sixteen percent of the power sold by mu-
nicipals was purchased from investor-owned utilities, 13 percent from electric cooperatives and 13 percent from the
federal Western Area Power Administration. These joint action agencies serve Minnesota municipal utilities:
Missouri River Energy Services, Northern Municipal Power Agency,
headquartered in Sioux Falls, S.D., serves these Minne- headquartered in Thief River Falls, serves these
sota communities: Minnesota communi-
Adrian,Alexan- MISSOURI ties: Bagley, Baudette,
dria, Barnesville, Fosston Halstad, --
N RIVER E Northern Municipal
Benson, Breck- Hawley, Roseau,
enridge, Detroit ENERGY SERVICES° Stephen, Thief River <, Power Agency
Lakes, Elbow Falls, Warren, ,
Lake, Henning, Hutchinson,Jackson, Lakefield, Lake Warroad.
Park, Luverne, Madison, Marshall, Melrose, Moorhead,
Ortonville,St.James, Sauk Centre, Staples, Wadena,
Westbrook, Worthington.
