Re$ource Inventory <br /> Red ~v'ing, MN <br /> <br /> Pilot PrOject's Success Sets Foundation <br /> fO Inventory <br /> r Full Countyi <br />The City of Red Wing is a largely u~developed community This information was entered into a database that was <br />noted for its access to regional bik~trails, historic then linked to a GIS system. The GIS system is a free- <br />restaurants, enticing main street sh~ps and its beautiful standing product that makes the information readily <br /> <br />natural surroundings. When the Cit~' of Red Wing was <br />presented with a proposal to devel~)p a 450-acre medical <br />campus and residential area, the CiI~ recognized the need <br />to prepare for and accommodate ~rowth while protecting <br />and enhancing its natural resourceS. <br /> <br />The City chose Bonestroo to cone <br />study of 3,000 acres of undevelo[ <br />included the site for the proposec <br />information provided by the Minn <br />Society, infrared photography ant <br />Bonestroo's botanist and natural r <br />gathered data on the existing qu~ <br />resources, rare species and cultur~ <br /> <br />uct a natural resources <br />ed land, which <br />campus.
