O Task 8: Ordinance Review and Parcel Evaluation <br />Among the tools you can use for natural resource management are <br />ordinances and development standards. We will review existing City <br />subdivision requirements and provide recommendations on how these <br />can be updated. Since Iow impact development strategies such as <br />clustering tend to work best on parcels of some size, we propose to <br />identify parcels greater than 40 acres in size suitable for cluster <br />development and other non-standard design methods. Where property <br />access prevented a field inventory, sites with potential suitability (based <br />on aerial photo review) will be noted and recommended for inventory <br />prior to or at the time of development. <br /> <br />Deliverables: <br />· Report section providing recommendations for updating city <br /> rules/ordinances <br />· Map highlighting parcels of greater than 40 acres where alternative <br /> design methods are appropriate <br /> <br />O Task 9: Report Creation <br /> Presentation <br />October-December 2004 <br /> <br />and Draft Report <br /> <br />After completion of field work and data entry, our team will create a <br />draft report including site-specific information regarding community <br />type, quality, restoration potential and other pertinent information <br />mentioned above. Also included will be: <br />· Project ~m~odology <br />, Natural rZ~-~urce inventory/land cover classification results <br /> · Summary of land cover by natural community type <br /> · Location of significant concentrations of natural areas <br />· Recommendations on <br /> · Priority lands for protection/acquisition <br /> · Potential greenway connections <br /> · Summary of restoration practices and threats to natural areas <br /> · Revisions to subdivision requirements <br /> · Priority conservation areas <br />· Color figures are anticipated for: <br /> · Community types and quality <br /> · MLCCS land cover types. <br /> · Potential greenway corridors <br /> · Priority lands for protection/acquisition by City, DNR or others <br /> · Rare species findings will be provided for each of the project areas <br /> <br />Ten copies of the draft report will be provided by November 30, 2004, <br />to allow time for City Staff and Park and Recreation Commission <br />members to review the document. We will present the draft NRI report <br />at the December 8, 2004, Park and Recreation Commission meeting. At <br />this time, we will ask for input from City staff and Park and Recreation <br />Commission members on the contents of the report.
