City <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />Item #3.6 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Joan Schmidt, City Clerk <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />February 23, 2004 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Consider Premises Permit Renewal for Elk River Youth Hockey <br /> Association <br /> <br />REQUEST <br />The Elk River Youth Hockey Association has requested to renew its premises permit to <br />conduct charitable gambling at Mitch Miller's Olde Town Tavern. The permit will run for <br />two years from July 1, 2004 until June 30, 2006. <br /> <br />APPLICANT <br />Elk River Youth Hockey Association <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City's ordinance requires that 75% of the lawful purpose expenditures must be spent <br />within the City's trade area. The trade area for Elk River includes the cities of Elk River, <br />Ramsey, Otsego, Rogers, and Zimmerman. The attached chart shows that the amount of <br />expenditures spent in the trade area during the years 2002 and 2003 exceeded the required <br />75%. <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />A motion from Council adopting the attached resolution approving a premises permit for <br />the Elk River Youth Hockey Association to conduct lawful charitable gambling at Mitch <br />Miller's Olde Town Tavern. <br /> <br /> <br />
