We sincerely regret the <br /> delay in our response. <br /> USDA takes very seriously its obligation to protect animals used for AWA-regulated purposes <br /> and works diligently to enforce the law and its supporting regulations. Personnel with USDA's <br /> Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) attended your company's event on August <br /> 24,2013, to gather additional information that would inform our evaluation. I appreciate the <br /> information you provided to APHIS personnel that day. After attending the event and reviewing <br /> it in accordance with our AWA statutory and regulatory authority, also taking into account the <br /> information you provided, USDA has concluded that this is a rodeo-type event, which is exempt <br /> from AWA regulation.
