Generally the City Council likes to see the schedule prior to it being presented in late December or early January for the upcoming year. At this time I am still receiving input from various department heads on some possible changes for 1999. I hope to have some of this information available to present to the Council on Monday November, 23, but nothing, other than the current fee schedule is attached to this memo. Two issue that I believe will be presented for Council review include an increase in park dedication fees and an increase in building permit fees. Regarding building permit fees, the city follows the state fee structure as this eliminates any issues with applicants when discussing city fees. At this time I don't know if the building permit increase is going to be proposed to be implemented all in one year, or ff the building and zoning administrator is going to recommend implementation over a two year time frame, which has been done in the past. Regarding park dedication fees, the last resolution on this topic was adopted in late 1995 for fees collected in 1996, 1997, and 1998. The commission is currently reviewing its needs and fee schedules of other communities, and a recommendation is expected in the near future. In general, I just wanted to get the current fee schedule out to the City Council for review, and I hope to have some verbal updates for you on Monday evening. 13065 Orono Parkway * P.O.
